AML Foods Limited today announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire the business and assets of Prime Island Meats & Deli, located in Hoopers Bay, Exuma. The transaction is expected to close in mid-March.

Commenting on the acquisition, Gavin Watchorn, President and Chief Executive Officer of AML Foods Limited, said, “We are pleased to expand our footprint in Exuma and build upon the strong legacy established by the Kemp family. Prime Island Meats & Deli has been a trusted and well-respected business on the island for many years, playing an important role in serving the Exuma community. We are committed to continuing that tradition of service to Exuma and the surrounding
cays.”

Upon completion, this acquisition will represent AML Foods third location in the Family Islands. Watchorn further noted that the store will follow a similar operating model to AML’s existing Exuma Markets location in George Town, while continuing to offer a full-service butcher shop on site. A store remodel is scheduled to commence in the summer.
