AML Foods Limited today announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire the business and assets of Captain Bob’s Seafood & Meat Market LTD, located in Harbour Island, Eleuthera. The transaction is expected to close on May 4 th, 2026.

Upon completion, the acquisition will mark AML Foods’ fourth location in the Family Islands, having also recently announced plans to acquire Prime Island Meats & Deli in Exuma. Watchorn added that the Harbour Island store will operate under a model similar to AML’s existing Eleuthera Markets store in Governor’s Harbour, with a full remodel planned for 2027. “We remain confident in the growth opportunities across the Family Islands and look forward to further strengthening our presence within these communities,” Watchorn added.

AML Foods Limited marked the 10th anniversary of its Feed 5000 initiative with the distribution of $78,000 in food vouchers to feeding organizations across New Providence, Grand Bahama, Exuma, and Eleuthera, reaffirming its long-standing commitment to fighting hunger in The Bahamas during the holiday season.

Funds were raised between November 3 and December 17, 2025, through a combined effort of corporate contributions and customer donations. AML Foods contributed $50,000, customers donated $22,500 at checkout across its retail brands, and Corporate Bahamas added $5,500.  Beneficiaries included the Bahamas Feeding Network, the Grand Bahama Chapter of the Bahamas Red Cross, the Exuma Foundation, and The Salvation Army in Eleuthera.

Since its launch in 2016, Feed 5000 has raised more than $500,000, providing nearly 25,000 Christmas meals and supporting over 100,000 Bahamians. Reflecting on the milestone, Renea Bastian, Vice President of Marketing and Communications at AML Foods, said the program represents the company’s enduring commitment to uplifting communities through consistent, meaningful partnerships.

Speaking to the significance of long-term partnerships in addressing hunger, Nicolette Fountain, Executive Director of the Bahamas Feeding Network, emphasized the program’s far-reaching impact:

Upon completion, this acquisition will represent AML Foods third location in the Family Islands. Watchorn further noted that the store will follow a similar operating model to AML’s existing Exuma Markets location in George Town, while continuing to offer a full-service butcher shop on site. A store remodel is scheduled to commence in the summer.
